This picture was taken as Michael Phelps broke the record for most gold medal awarded to one person, at the '08 Beijing Olympics. Out of all the pictures from the website I remembered this one the most distinctly because my family and I where watching the Olympics very closely when this happened. Not only did he break the record for most gold medals won, but he broke a lot of records to get to that point. He won almost every event he was in, and he made record times in those events as well. Basically he was the fastest swimmer up to that point, and because of that he won a ton of gold medals. This photo was the most iconic one to me because people will always remember Michael Phelps, and what he accomplished, and personally it was probably the Olympics I followed the closest because he was in it and I was young to spend all my time watching the olympics
